Overview

Incorporated in 1975, TheDataFinders Group ® , Inc. ("DFG") was formed to provide a service to the computer industry in searching for, screening, hiring and retaining the top talent that was currently available at the time of the search. Unlike its competitors that relied solely on the candidate's "resume" to determine a match, DFG took a three- dimensional approach toward candidate profiling--all built around personal relationships that have developed over the years.

Instead of just looking at a person's "technical" capabilities, DFG was noted for its personal approach to the recruiting process by building relationships with its candidates that revealed insight into their career from three distinct vantage points:

  • The candidates themselves: Their personality, communication skills, job philosophies, attitudes towards others, teamwork, preferred working environment, likes, dislikes, etc.
  • Their "technical" skills: Typically only summarized on a resume, but without the in-depth determination of achievements, accomplishments, standings amongst their peers, why one company was chosen and another resigned from, etc.
  • The correct next career choice: The combination of the two above, plus a solid relationship with the candidate (and client company), greatly increases the probability that the hiring of the candidate will result in a successful business relationship. Should issues occur in the future, the continued involvement of DFG increases the retaining probabilities of the client/candidate. This is due again to the strength of the relationships DFG typically has with its contacts.

In 1979, in order to enhance these relationships; DFG pioneered the assignment of territories/accounts to individual recruiters servicing the computer industry. Over its history, DFG recruiters have remained in their individually assigned territories strengthening their knowledge of, and relationships with, their contacts over the years. It is due to this stability and history, that DFG is able to offer to our candidates/clients an unparalleled and in-depth knowledge of our contacts personally.

Lastly, due to this personal involvement and lack of reliance on resumes only, the confidentiality of our candidates is completely assured. There is no "mass mailing" of resumes; resumes are not mailed out without the three-tiered screening being accomplished, and without the candidate's authorization. Individuals submitting their "paperwork" to DFG can be assured of this, as this is the only proper way to be presented to a client; and most good clients insist on it.
